重視行動力的古紹崙，並非是艾迪索的創辦人。他出生於桃園楊梅，在台灣念完明新工專電子科，進入王安電腦擔任資訊處理人員，後來到Qtronix公司，負責為客戶提供技術支援服務，在九三年被派駐到德國出任產品經理，兩年後轉往美國分公司，扛起總經理一職。近10年間足跡踏遍歐洲、北美、亞洲各地，累積了扎實的產業經驗, 專業能力與豐沛的人脈。

2002年古紹崙在機緣巧合下得知一家於1994 年在美國加州成立, 專營鍵盤與滑鼠的主流通路的品牌公司「ADESSO」有意轉售，而ADESSO當時的主要客戶是全美及全球最大的電腦資訊、消費電子的通路商Ingram Micro，當時32歲的他毅然決定將過去工作累積的資金全部投入，正式入主ADESSO。買下ADESSO時，公司只有5名員工、因為創業初期資金吃緊，特別只挑「本少、利多、抗跌、少囉嗦」的電腦周邊產品。他還策略性地避開紅海市場，而往工業用產品發展，時值中國製造崛起，古紹崙隻身前往中國，開發出品質更好，成本卻更低的新產品，短短數年內，產品線陸續擴充至Headsets、Speakers、Graphic Tablets、Scanners and Webcams，連年把200萬美金的營業額以等差級數翻倍。現在的ADESSO旗下已經有多達300種產品，客戶亦涵蓋 Ingram Micro, Synnex，Tech Data 全球前三大通路商，2020年成為年營收16億台幣的跨國企業。是台灣創業者中少見的成功品牌案例。

El fabricante Adesso presentó su nueva línea de productos en el CES 2022 y aseguró que fortalecerá su negocio hacia el mercado de Latinoamérica.

El CES 2022 es el escaparate internacional para que los fabricantes de electrónica de consumo muestren al mercado mundial la tecnología e innovación que estarán sacando al mercado durante todo el año y Adesso presentó su nueva línea de productos.

De acuerdo con Allen Ku, Presidente de Adesso, la nueva oferta de accesorios de cómputo de la compañía destaca con una línea de cámaras web con tecnología para capturar video de gran calidad, desde HD hasta 4K, además de inteligencia para un enfoque automático y seguimiento, características diseñadas para fortalecer la video colaboración de los usuarios.

“Dream BIG, Work Hard” Build promising global enterprise from scratch and raise striking presence in world top 3 distribution channels by providing “Five-Star Service”.

How can Allen Ku, a chef’s son from Taiwan, without prominent family background and stunning academic history become significant player in US ICT market and create a multinational company with annual revenues of more than USD 50 million?

Back in 1992, a young man accumulated several years of work experience in Taiwan after graduating from Mingxin Technical College with Electronic Engineering major was assigned to work in Europe and the United States alone. In 10 years, he traveled thousands of miles to major cities in the United States with hope to establish rapports with customers.

“But even worked so hard and visited customers so frequently, I still cannot get significant business from the mainstream channels in the United States”, said Allen.

A Keen Strategy to Turn the Page

Allen Ku Made Adesso Ranked in Top 5000 Fast Growing Private Companies in US within 3 years

Adesso was formed by an Italian American in 1994 to focus on promoting computer keyboards and mice under the company brand.  In 2002 at the age of 32, when Allen learned by chance that Adesso owner would like to sell the company, he decided to invest his entire asset, US$300,000 accumulated in 10 years by very hardworking to seize the opportunity. It is because that main customer of Adesso then was Ingram Micro, which is now the top 1 ICT distributor in US.  Why could he make such big and bold decision? “I was still young then and I could start all over again if I failed.” Allen replied with big smile on his face.

By the time Allen took over Adesso, “Computer keyboard” is the only product line and there are only 5 employees.  Despite the limited resources, to grow revenue Allen still decided to expand the product lines but strategically focusing on niche Industrial PC peripherals which need less investment, less education & technical support needed while with smaller yet stable demand.    In the meantime, when China was on the rise as newly ICT manufacturing Center, Allen went to China on his own to build supply chain for developing new products with better quality at better cost. He doubled the turnover ever year in several consecutive years.  Adesso now has as many as 300 products covering Headsets, Speakers, Graphic Tablets, Scanners and Webcams under its umbrella. Its major customers include Ingram Micro, Synnex, and Tech Data, the world’s top three distributors, and it has become a multinational company with an annual revenue of US$50 Million.

Allen is good at discovering potential opportunities as well as people and transform them to be business and resources.  The unique character also brings him many life-changing supporters who had helped to reinforce Allen’s business further. “Work hard, Work Smart, Work with Smart and Hard-working People “is my life belief. Allen also shared, “Always looking forward and working harder is my special way to ease the pressure.”

To cope with the fierce competition in the Industry, Allen not only fulfill the demands of customers by wide variety of products with good quality, but also by “Five-star service”, which was inspired by past experiences of serving customers.  The Five-star service” refer to “Same Day Delivery, Free Tech Support, Direct Warranty, Price Protection, and Stock Rotation.  It took Allen years of efforts and significant investment to build up infrastructure to execute the “Five-star service”. For instance, “Same Day Delivery “requires powerful warehousing and logistics system. “Five-star Service is our commitment to our customers. I don’t consider this as competitive advantage but very basic attitude to support customers.” Allen emphasized。

Allen use baseball rule to further explain why he service not only Distributor but every player in the channel network. He thought wining business from Distributor is just like put player in the first base. Only you can help the player to reach 2nd base, 3rd base and home plate like reaching reseller, end customers and score the real business.  Thus a brand can really win the game of market.

To provide most appropriate support to global customers with different culture, it is must to stay close to customers and provide localized service.  Adesso is establishing branches and logistic centers in important hub cities of different countries.   All branches and logistic centers are ready to operate quickly and efficiently because they are backup by self-developed clouds-based data management system together with central production hubs in China and Taiwan as well as strong financial infrastructure.  “It’s just like McDonald’s. If the central kitchen, logistics and SOP are ready, to operate the business in different locations is easy. ” Allen said.

「大膽逐夢」白手起家拚出全球競爭力 古紹崙用教科書沒有的「五星服務」精神，打進全球前三大通路商

一個沒有顯赫家世和學歷、甚至沒有留學過的台灣之子，如何成功打入美國白人電腦供應鏈、迅速成長，打造出年營收逾十億的跨國企業？今年12月頒發的創業楷模獎，出現了一個台灣人過去不熟悉，未來卻可能一定要認識的名字：古紹崙。

時間拉回到1992年，就像所有「美國夢」的故事一樣，一個從明新工專電子工程畢業後在台灣累積幾年工作經驗的小夥子，一個人帶著一只皮箱和1000元美金，孤身被外派到到歐洲、美國，飛機一落地，只能用「舉目無親」來形容。

「一切只有靠自己的努力、努力、再努力，才有可能爬上岸。」古紹崙回憶，在美國工作歷練的10年間，他一個人跑遍了美國各大城市，還經常捨棄直飛班機，特別選擇轉機航班，因為機票便宜，一次還能多跑幾個城市，讓他最高紀錄一年飛了約100趟的航班，就這麼「日行千里」地累積起主要的客戶群，他自己也從技術支援工程師當到了分公司總經理。「但是即使這樣跑，美國主流的品牌通路就是做不大。」

問到這一路是怎麼存活下來的？古紹崙感恩一路走來有很多貴人相挺，然而進一步了解，卻發現是他身上的許多特質，才讓這些「慧眼識英雄」的貴人們另眼相待。再加上他本身懂得善用資源，讓這些助力發揮槓桿般的巧勁，才能以小成大，一路滾雪球般地滾出成功事業。

從美國返台領獎的14天居家檢疫期間，卻是Adesso董事長古紹崙最忙碌的時期，因為公司跨國去中心化管理的「天眼計畫」正如火如荼進行，透過雲端建置行銷、供應鏈、營運、人資四大模組，所有的產品研發，業務行銷，及時庫存更新和人員的教育培訓，全部都在這個跨語言的平台上，以數字進行管理，不同職位權限所需的各種報表一目瞭然。「過去20年我每週工作60小時，但是在居家檢疫的14天裡，我一週工作100小時。」古紹崙笑著說。

Adesso Launches Gyration Security Solutions

 

Rebrands Gyration to security-based solutions – cameras and network video recorders;

All Gyration cameras and network video recorders are NDAA compliant with select models also being TAA compliant

 

Walnut, Calif. – July 1, 2021 – Adesso® Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of computer peripherals to schools, corporate entities, and the government, announces the launch of Gyration® security solutions.  All Gyration products are compliant with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), allowing the cameras to be installed on federal properties or properties of federally funded entities.  Select models are made in Taiwan and compliant with the Trade Agreement Act (TAA), therefore available for U.S. federal government purchase.

 

The Gyration product line will initially include bullet, dome, and turret-style cameras, ranging from 2MP, 4MP, and 8MP, as well as 4, 8, 16, and 32-port network video recorders (NVRs).  The Gyration products come with a free monitoring app for smartphones, tablets and desktop computers. Gyration will introduce, in the near future, a Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) that will provide an interface between edge computing and the cloud access to your security system.

 

“We are excited to announce the rebranding of Gyration to provide professional security solutions,” said Allen Ku, president of Adesso.  “Gyration security solutions is a natural outgrowth of Adesso’s experience designing cutting-edge webcams and document cameras, and Gyration’s experience with user-interface devices.  Gyration’s CyberView products are the first new products since we acquired the brand and introduces Adesso to the security industry.”

 

Gyration security cameras are designed for indoor or outdoor applications.  The cameras, from basic to intelligent models, come equipped with fixed or varifocal lens options to capture various viewing angles based on surveillance needs.  Intelligent camera models come with smart perimeter protection, including crossline, intrusion, enter/exit area; as well as face capture.  Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology allows the cameras to capture crisp and clear images in most lighting environments.  Each camera also has a built-in Micro SD slot for edge storage.

 

Gyration NVRs offer high-quality recording for your surveillance needs, providing 4K resolution; Ultra 265/H.265/H.264 compression; simultaneous HDMI and VGA output; and supporting Gyration’s VSaaS.
