WALNUT, CALIF.,
November 7, 2005 –
Adesso Inc., a leading manufacturer and distributor of innovative and
stylish keyboards, tablets, mice, touchpad’s, and other input
peripherals, today announced a revolutionary new line of digital
notepads/PC tablets for consumers, executives, artists, mobile
professionals, and students. The new CyberPad series is available today
for $199.99 MSRP through Ingram Micro, Tech-Data & Synnex, direct
vendors including AMAZON, Buy.com, PC Mall, CDW, mWave, TigerDirect and
Insight; and retail stores such as Fry’s and Micro Center; and through
leading catalogs including CDW, PC Mall and PC Connection.
The
CyberPad alleviates the need to manage multiple devices such as PDAs,
notebook PCs, digital cameras and traditional notepads. Resembling a
regular 8 1/2 by 11-inch notepad portfolio, the Adesso CyberPad
digitally stores exact reproductions of notes or graphics in real time.
It includes a clip which accommodates all standard letter-sized paper
pads. The CyberPad includes 32MB of internal memory which provides 26
directories (A-Z) with 99 pages available in each – and is further
expandable with the integrated SD slot – which can also act as an SD
card reader. It then connects to a PC via USB to instantly transfer and
manage notes and images.
Once
connected to a PC, Adesso’s CyberPad can also convert into a
fully-functional PC tablet, which is an ideal input solution for
computer artists, graphic designers, photo editors and office and
CAD/CAM applications. Other emerging applications include Internet
whiteboard graphics, signature verification for e-commerce as well as
handwriting/text conversion.
“Even with the incredible adoption rate of consumer electronics and
digital lifestyle products, the traditional notepad is the most
comfortable and common means of capturing notes and ideas,” said Allen
Ku, CEO of Adesso. “Whether you’re in a meeting, class, training or
simply capturing ideas, the Adesso CyberPad combines the familiarity of
a regular notepad, with the benefits and management benefits of
digitization and PC connectivity. And, since it doubles as a PC tablet,
users can also naturally draw and write freehand graphics and text as
comfortably as they would on real paper.”
The CyberPad is bundled with a complete suite of software to start
capturing and organizing notes right out of the box. It includes
editing software to revise and enhance the text or graphics, add color,
expand content, add annotations etc. saving each file in shareable JPG,
BMP of GIF formats. The software also manages each page or folder as
thumbnails for easy viewing and organizing. The bundle also includes
riteMail® and
EverNote® from EverNote Corporation. RiteMail is a digital note-taking
software application that features advanced handwriting recognition. It
allows mobile users to take handwritten notes and graphics on their
CyberPad and transfer them to their PCs for editing, email, printing,
and text and shape recognition using the company’s ANR™ - Advanced Notes
Recognition. EverNote 1.0 for Windows is a complete note management
solution that gives users a single place to capture and automatically
categorize their notes - digital ink, text, Web and document clips,
images and forms - making them instantly accessible anytime, any place.
